Cromwell Cruiser Tank, officially Tank, Cruiser, Mk VIII, the Cromwell was a British cruiser tank produced from 1941 to a requirement by the General Staff. The Cromwell was among the best that British industry designed and produced during the Second World War. However, it came too late to the front of the Second World War, moreover, it was surpassed in terms of firepower and armor by the modern German Tiger and Panther tanks. These tanks were also used in battles on the Western Front by the Czechoslovak Independent Armored Brigade, which arrived in Czechoslovakia with them in May 1945.
