Strakonice Castle is a Gothic castle and a Baroque castle. The castle was probably built in the 13th century. It belonged to the Bavarians from Strakonice, who already in the middle of the 13th century donated part of the castle to the Johannite order. Strakonice became the seat of the Grand Priors of the order, which gradually came to dominate it
the entire Strakonice estate and from 1402 the entire castle belonged to him. The Johannites owned the castle until the 20th century. Another property damage was the Beneš decrees, implemented in 1946. Since 1963, the castle has been protected as a cultural monument.
