The Waco CG-4 Haig glider was an American mixed-structure strut high-plane transport glider of World War II. The gliders were usually towed by Douglas C-47 Skytrain or Curtiss C-46 Commando transport aircraft. They were used in airborne operations. They carried 13 fully equipped paratroopers, a jeep with a crew of four, or a manned 75 mm light field howitzer. A total of over 13,900 CG-4s were built, several of which served after the war under the designation NK-4 in the Czechoslovak Air Force.

The Airspeed Horsa was a British military glider used in World War II. The first prototype of this all-wooden glider was flown on September 12, 1941, and serial production began almost immediately. It was first used in action at the end of 1942 during an airborne operation in Norway.  A total of 3,799 pieces were produced in various enterprises of the wood processing industry.
