The KdF 82 Kübelwagen is a rear-engine, rear-wheel-drive light military passenger car built on a modified VW Beetle chassis and produced from 1940–1945 by KdF-Wagen, now Volkswagen, in Wolfsburg, Germany. In 1940, serial production of the first thousand units began, a total of 50,435 Kdf 82 units were produced in the period 1940–1945.
