The Mark II Tank, known as the Matilda, was a British heavy infantry tank designed in 1937 and produced during World War II. In 1936, the British Ministry of War decided to develop a tank that would be comparable to newly developed machines of a similar type. The Matildas participated significantly in the battles in France and Africa, where at first they were a more than capable opponent of the Italian and German tanks. The known weakness of the design was the low speed and weak armament, in the second half of the war the tank quickly became obsolete.
The Panzerkampfwagen III was a German medium tank produced between 1939–1943. A total of about 5,650 machines were produced. The Pz III tank was supposed to represent the main battle tank of the German troops in the coming war. In the end, we had to accept the fact that the Pz III was too small and light and did not allow the installation of a sufficiently powerful weapon. Therefore, its production was terminated in 1943.
