Jagdtiger, the official marking of the Panzerjäger Tiger Ausf. B was a German heavy tank destroyer at the end of World War II. The Jagdtiger represents one of the pinnacle efforts of the arms industry of the Third Reich in the direction of building ever heavier and larger armored vehicles. The chassis and tank of the Königstiger heavy tank became the basis for the Jagdtiger. 88 units were produced; was deployed on the Western Front. Several machines fought in Austria against the Red Army.
The Centaur cruiser tank was another type of British fighting machine, the development of which was started only after the experience of battles with German tanks in 1941. The tank was based on the Cavalier type. During the design of the new vehicle, it was decided for the first time to use a universal cannon in a British tank, capable of destroying enemy vehicles and level goals. It entered action in Normandy in 1944. It should also be remembered that the Centaur cars (after an engine change) gave rise to the successful Cromwell-type medium tanks.
